Pam Waters - Orchids in Bloom
There were many smiling faces at the Tampa Orchid Club’s January meeting. Pam Waters, of Orchids in Bloom in Apopka, gave a talk about growing Rhychostylis gigantea with several beautiful examples of these easy to grow plants. She also shared her journey to becoming an orchid grower/vendor. She gave us information on fertilizing and seasonal orchid care for Florida growing, followed by a question and answer period. Pam brought us a wide variety of orchids, in addition to the Rhychostylis, for purchase and raffle. It was tough to choose but most of us went home with at least one new orchid and there were lots of happy raffle winners too.
Nancy Losgar, our AOS judge, gave in depth evaluations on all the lovely bloomers brought for the Bloom Table display. Check out the new Bloom Table page here on our website for the most recent winners and displays.
Thank you to everyone who join us and made the meetings a fun time. Be sure to check out the homepage of the Tampa Orchid Club here for information on our next meeting.
Happy Growing!
